Organizations that provide a service to the local community in various ways will be at the Volunteer Fair to share what they do and let you know how you can help. South Deschutes County is blessed with dozens of non-profit organizations working to improve our community. Local organizations work to keep our environment healthy and clean, as well as promoting and encouraging responsible recreation, while others provide services to folks in need. The Fair is an opportunity to learn more about each organization and how you can help. Come and find a way you can help make South Deschutes County a better place to live!
Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” As an SCF Member, please mark your calendar for this event now! We will communicate more details about how you can participate and help make this a successful event!
Open to the public throughout South Deschutes County to come and enjoy refreshments, see the new SCF building, and sign up to volunteer with one or more presenters.
Support all the local non-profit organizations in our congregation. Each organization will be invited to set up and “man” a table to provide information and sign-up volunteers. There is a wide range of non-profits where SCF volunteers make a difference. The lengthy list includes such diverse organizations as La Pine Sunriver Habitat for Humanity, Healing Reins, United Way, LT Rangers, CASA, Bend-La Pine School District, Rotary, Sunriver Women’s Club, Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory including the Second Tern, Care and Share, Woodchuckers, and the Sunriver Library, as well as local music and theater organizations.
