Council on Aging – Living Well with Chronic Conditions

A free 6-session evidence-based workshop designed for those dealing with a chronic or limiting health condition. Each session is 2.5 hours in length, and participants learn self-management techniques and skills needed in the day to day management of any type of ongoing health condition. The program has also been proven to be effective for caregivers.

Workshop Details:
Living Well with Chronic Conditions is a 6 week workshop for those ages 60+, living with or those caregiving for anyone with a Chronic Condition. This in-person workshop will help participants learn how to manage their chronic condition and offer support to each other.

You will learn:
Techniques to manage frustration, fatigue, pain, and isolation
Exercising at your level
Appropriate use of medications
Proper nutrition
How to evaluate new treatments
Communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals
Chronic conditions can include, but are not limited to: cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, autoimmune disorders, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, endocrine disorders, and cancer.
Transportation is available with Cascade East Transit. There is a stop just outside the Council on Aging.

Join us for lunch at 12:00 pm in our community dining room! Lunch is free for those ages 60+.
