Crook County, with the support of local partners has secured $50,000 to purchase food for our
community. During this very challenging time Crook County – Holiday Partnership, Search and Rescue,
Fortis Construction and Facebook are stepping up with a food distribution project to help those in the
most need in our community. This project is intended to compliment all the other great food projects
we have in our county.
The Crook County Health Department as the lead agency is partnering with local support agencies and
volunteers. Enough money was raised to buy non-perishable food to serve over 1500 households with
nearly a weeks’ worth of food. In addition to this, NeighborImpact has stepped up and will be
supporting this project with Dairy and Produce Food Boxes.
It truly does take a village and Crook County wants you all to know that our village hears you and is here
to support you. Volunteers have stepped up and will be helping to sort, bag and hand out the food.
During this challenging time of Pandemic we will be practicing all the requirements of the Oregon State
Executive Order by wearing face coverings and maintaining our physical distancing. Without the support
of our residents and the work being done behind the scenes from not just the Health Department but all
our partners this project could not be a success.
How will this work:
This will be a drive through at the Crook County Fairgrounds – Everyone will enter the main gate
on Main Street and drive through the Fairgrounds to Carey Foster Hall – Food collection will
happen here and then exit onto Lynn Blvd.
Walk ups are also welcome – just be sure you can carry your food.
Only 1 trip through the line per household – please this is very important so that more people
can be supported.
When will this happen:
Thursday, June 11, 2020 – Gates open at 9:00 am
Seniors and Veterans ONLY from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon (or support staff and liaisons)
General public 12:00 noon – 7:00 pm (or until the food runs out)
Friday, June 12, 2020 – Gates open at 9:00 am
General public – 9:00 am until the food runs out
