COCC FEST PUTS PACIFIC RIM CULTURES IN FOCUS
Hula dancers, Vietnamese cuisine and Chinese calligraphy are all part of the festivities at Central Oregon Community College’s (COCC) annual Asian-Pacific Islander Festival, from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, at the Coats Campus Center. This event is free and open to the public.
Performances include Filipino dancers, ‘Uhane Hawaii’s hula group and a martial arts demonstration. Samples from Hawaiian, Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisines will be provided by Big Island Kona Mix Plate, Bend-O Bento, Pho Viet & Café and Red Dragon. The arts and crafts segment of the event includes origami, flower crafts and Chinese calligraphy.
