“Cranial Injuries and Criminals: Understanding Brain Function through Mishaps and Mayhem” is the title of a free presentation at Central Oregon Community College’s (COCC) Redmond campus at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, at the Technology Education Center, Room 209.

COCC psychology professor Rebecca Walker-Sands, Ph.D., will highlight some historical individuals, such as John Hinckley Jr., Charles Whitman and Phineas Gage, in discussing the impacts on behavior, in predictable ways, when brain structure undergoes an alteration. Walker-Sands, an expert in this area of study, earned her doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has taught at COCC since 1995.
