ABSTRACT WATERSCAPES FLOW INTO COCC EXHIBIT

October 5, 2018 - November 25, 2018

An art exhibit titled “Water Tables: Sketches,” by local artist and Atelier 6000 (now Bend Art Center) founder Patricia Clark, is showing at Central Oregon Community College’s (COCC) Barber Library Rotunda Gallery from Oct. 5 to Nov. 25, with a reception and artist talk at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10. For gallery hours, visit the Barber Library’s webpage at cocc.edu.

The exhibit spans a three-year series of abstract mixed-media drawings, captured on clayboard, with a water table theme. Clark’s fascination with water tables traces back to childhood memories of her family home in Minnesota being flooded by the Red River and continues today, living on the High Desert, with a “heightened awareness of water’s presence, absence and importance.”

Having trained at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, and spending close to 40 years as a university professor in California and Wisconsin, the artist retired to Central Oregon over a decade ago. She founded Atelier 6000, a community art studio that last year became the Bend Art Center.
