MADRAS, OR — A $16 million renovation is coming the St. Charles Medical Center in Madras. The funds will add 26,000 square feet to the facility, expand laboratory space and equipment, upgrade the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems in the over 45 year old building and more.
St. Charles Madras CEO Jeanie Gentry told KBNW News the renovation is welcomed news for hospital employees and the community. She said Jefferson County has many health needs.
“We have the lowest health scores in the state, right now, by county. And, we’re concerned about that, and so, St. Charles is really putting their money in and investigating it in a place where it’s most needed to take care of the people who need it the most.”
Construction is slated to start in May and should wrap up after two years.
