Getty Images/Jason LaVeris(LOS ANGELES) — Val Kilmer insists he doesn’t have cancer — despite what his buddy Michael Douglas says.
In a lengthy Facebook post Tuesday, the Top Gun actor addressed rumors, reportedly started by cancer survivor Douglas, that he’s battling oral cancer. Kilmer insists Douglas is “misinformed.”
“The last time I spoke to him was almost two years ago, when I asked him for a referral for a specialist to get a diagnosis for a lump in my throat” Kilmer explains. “I ended up using a team at UCLA and have no cancer whatsoever. I still have a swollen tongue and am rehabbing steadily.”
Kilmer goes on to write that he made three films in the last year, adding to fans that he’s doing a Q&A about his film Cinema Twain soon. “Come see me live and happy and in person in Westwood [California] next week if you think I’m fibbing!!”
The 56-year-old actor adds that he doesn’t know what led Douglas to speculate about his health, but he’s sure it wasn’t malicious.
