Central Oregonians Digging Out After Snow Storm

Central Oregon – Central Oregonians are digging out after getting hit hard by a snow storm that dumped over a foot of snow in less than 24 hours.

All COCC and OSU-Cascades classes are cancelled and all campuses are closed today, Wednesday 11/25/15. This includes all classes in Bend, Redmond, Madras, and Prineville. More info here.

The National Weather Service has ended the Winter Storm Warning for Central Oregon this morning.

Many motorists were stranded for several hours Tuesday night on Highway 97 south of Bend at Lava Butte and also in Bend on the Bend Parkway. Two jackknifed pickups and several slide-offs had emergency crews struggling to reach accidents because of the traffic congestion. Authorities discouraged  travel as snow piled up to 14 inches in some local areas. Click here for state travel.

The storm caused flight cancellations and delays at Redmond Municipal Airport. If you are flying out of Redmond today, check with your airline and here.
