(NEW YORK) — Austria plans to build a fence at it’s border with Slovenia.
The fence will be constructed at the main border crossing migrants use to enter Austria from Slovenia, says BBC News.
The Austrian Chancellor, Werner Faymann, says the move is not meant to close the border but to regulate migrants arriving, reports the BBC.
Europe has experienced a recent surge of migrants coming from Syria into Greece, through the Balkans and then ultimately into Germany and Austria.
