Fatal Crash Kills Chiloquin Woman and Injures Bend Teen

Chiloquin, Ore. – A Chiloquin woman died and a Bend teenager was taken to the hospital after a crash yesterday shortly after 4 p.m. near Crater Lake.

Yesterday at about 4:12 PM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash at the Highway 62/Highway 422 junction. That’s south of Crater Lake in Northern Klamath County.

Oregon State Police say preliminary information shows the driver of a 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Highway 62 she collided with a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta as the driver pulled out from Highway 422. Both vehicles rolled over after impact.

The driver of the Toyota, 28 year old Michelle Rose Cirrito, of Chiloquin, was pronounced deceased on scene. Her passenger, a toddler, was transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls for serious injuries.

The driver and sole person in the Volkswagen was a seventeen year old female from Bend. She was taken to Sky Lakes Medical Center for her injuries.
