Fatal Crash Shuts Down Interstate 5 Near Eugene

Eugene, Ore. -The Oregon State Police is seeking witnesses to this morning’s fatal crash on Interstate 5 south of Eugene.

Yesterday morning just before 10AM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near just south of the Highway 58 junction.

According to Sergeant Hank Duren, a tan 2001 Saturn Sedan was traveling northbound on Interstate 5 when it collided with a black 2015 Dodge Pickup.

The Saturn lost control and rolled over, coming to rest in the lanes of travel. The driver of the Saturn, a 62 year old male from Springfield was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency personnel. Police will release his name after family is notified.

The driver of the Dodge 69 year old David R Boyce of Santa Clara, Utah, was not injured.
