Washington-Oregon Border – The lightning caused Grizzly Bear Complex is currently 10 percent contained and full containment isn’t expected until October 31st.
It’s burning in timber, light logging slash and grass and brush. The fire complex is located 20 miles SE of Dayton, WA on the Umatilla National Forest, in the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness, and on private lands protected by Washington DNR and by the Oregon Department of Forestry.
About 750 fire fighters are on the lines of the 74,000 acre complex.
