Sunriver, Ore. – Today at approximately 3:31 PM, deputies from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported head on collision involving multiple vehicles on S. Century Dr. in the Sunriver area. Dispatch reported the crash was involving a motorcycle, truck pulling a boat, and car. It was reported there were multiple people injured in the crash, and entrapment in one of the vehicles. Dispatch reported the roadway was completely blocked by the crash. Everyone involved in the crash is from Bend.
Deputies investigating the crash determined the Chevrolet passenger car driven by Taylor Hanson was driving northbound on S. Century Dr. when it crossed the center line colliding head on with the GMC truck driven by Jason Hancock.
The BMW motorcycle driven by Stacie Benedict was following the truck southbound on S. Century Dr. After the car and truck collided they came to an abrupt stop causing the motorcycle to collide with the car.
Taylor Hanson and Jason Hancock were taken to St. Charles by air ambulance with serious injuries. Benedict, Ross, and Natalie Hancock were transported to St. Charles by ground ambulance with serious injuries.
S. Century Dr. was closed for approximately three hours.
Deputies are being assisted by Deschutes County Detectives and this crash is still under investigation.
