Redmond, Ore. – A Redmond man, 31 year old Jonathan Bailey is in jail in connection with an assault case in Redmond.

Redmond Police Department Officers, along with Deputies and Troopers from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police, were dispatched to a report of a male lying in the roadway with serious physical injuries. Initial reports indicated the victim was assaulted and /or hit by a vehicle. Redmond police blocked the highway to preserve any possible destruction of evidence if a vehicle had been involved.

The victim was identified as a 39 year old male, a transient new to the Redmond area. The victim was taken by ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center for treatment. He was able to speak to police about what had occurred.

The suspects are Jonathan Bailey and Jason Nelson, both of Redmond. Bailey was contacted by Redmond Police and arrested yesterday afternoon. He is charged with Burglary in the First Degree and Assault in the Third Degree. Nelson has not been contacted directly by police, but contact has been made through his attorney.

The suspects and victim were known to each other. The public is safe and there are no other suspects outstanding.
