Local Filmmaker’s Documentary About Self Confidence

Oregon State University – Cascades will host a screening of “Confidence,” a film produced by local filmmaker Bola Gbadebo that looks at self-confidence through several community members’ eyes.

The screening will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., April 10th in the atrium of Edward J. Ray Hall on the OSU-Cascades campus. The event is free, but registration is required.

Gbadebo is a journalist and poet interested in fostering empathy through personal stories. She was formerly a news anchor on KTVZ NewsChannel21. Gbadebo’s work now focuses on producing human-interest films that also feature her haiku poetry.

Her debut film, “Confidence,” encourages audience members to reflect on how they present themselves to and relate with others.  The 28-minute documentary takes viewers on an intimate journey to understand how a sense of personal identity and resilience is formed. Through stories of diverse local residents, the film reveals the universal struggles that everyone experiences—insecurities, triumphs and the strength often required to navigate  personal circumstances.
