Police Investigate Homicide at Bend Motel

Authorities are investigating a homicide after a body was found in a southeast Bend motel room. At approximately 8:24 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, Bend Police responded to a request for a welfare check at the Holiday Motel. An employee reported entering a room and finding an unresponsive man inside. The man, identified as 34-year-old Bend resident Robert Lewis Treher, was confirmed dead at the scene.

Treher’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

A large law enforcement presence was on hand at the Holiday Motel until approximately 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, as Bend Police and Oregon State Police forensics investigated. This remains an active investigation. No arrests have been made.
