Deschutes Historical Museum Hosts Chili Feed

The Deschutes Historical Museum invites the public to our Annual Chili Feed and Raffle event November 8-9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a fundraiser to support year-round programs and exhibits. Admission to the museum is free during the event.

Featuring “Millie’s Chili” and made with locally raised Barley Beef from Rastovich Farms, Deschutes County’s only official working Century Farm, this annual fall fundraiser started over 37 years ago by Millie Rastovich Chopp.

In addition to lunch, tickets for this year’s raffle are also available with a chance to win gift baskets, selected from local and historic businesses, including The Old Mill District, Newport Market, Wild Birds Unlimited, Bend Golf and Country Club, Wanderlust Tours, Mt. Bachelor, and more. Chili is $10.00 per person and is available to-go.

Prescribed Burn Season Begins Soon

Public Health officials from Deschutes, Jefferson and Klamath Counties, in coordination with the U.S. Forest Service, are encouraging community members to prepare for smoke ahead of prescribed burn season this year. Beginning mid-April, Forest Service crews will
