Meth, Heroin Seized During La Pine Traffic Stop

Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office seized more than 22 pounds of methamphetamine and four pounds of heroin during a traffic stop in La Pine. According to DCSO, On September 14th, 2024, deputies conducted an interdiction stop on Highway 97/Rosland Road.

While deputies were completing a traffic citation, a City of Bend Police Department K-9 handler arrived on scene. Narcotics K-9 “Bonnie” alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.

A subsequent hand search of the vehicle found the drugs.

The driver and a passenger were issued citations in lieu of custody.
