Teen Arrested After Crashing Stolen SUV

On August 18, at approximately 4:48 a.m., the Redmond Police Department responded to a vehicle crash at 3198 SW Volcano Avenue. The vehicle, driven by an 18-year-old Redmond resident, had been reported stolen from a Redmond neighborhood the previous evening.

The suspect crashed the vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban, through two residential fences, a carport then into a detached tool shed. The home on the property was not struck or damaged. The residents of the home were sleeping and not injured. Officers investigating the crash determined the driver was impaired while driving the SUV and arrested him on several charges to include DUII.

The suspect was jailed on the following charges:

Reckless Endangering (ORS 163.195) X2

Criminal Mischief I (ORS 164.365)

UUMV (ORS 164.135)

Possession of Stolen Vehicle (ORS 819.300)
