HIGH DESERT MUSEUM’S SENIOR DAY
Everyone 65 and older gets in free on Wednesday, May 13

The High Desert Museum is offering free admission to everyone 65 years and older on Wednesday, May 13. “Senior Day” is a rare opportunity for seniors to enjoy the incredible wildlife, meaningful history, and artful exhibits offered at the Museum at no cost.

In addition to the museum’s permanent exhibits, there are two temporary exhibits to explore and tours of each one will be offered. Growing Up Western depicts how different life was for women and children in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The exhibit includes historic photographs, artifacts and treasured toys that offer a glimpse into the rugged, yet often joyful lives of the region’s settlers. Brewing Culture: The Craft of Beer highlights the history of brewing, the ingredients used in craft beers, the brewing process, and the culture of the craft brewing industry. Deadly by Nature: Venom and Poison is an exhibition that includes live animals that have adapted to use toxins for self-preservation.

There will be wildlife encounters and talks throughout the day.

The Museum will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The museum’s café and store both will be open.
