Deschutes County Property Taxes Due May 15

property_taxes

Deschutes County wants to remind property owners who elected to pay their 2023-2024 property taxes in three installments that the final trimester payment is due by Wednesday, May 15. All unpaid taxes after that date are considered delinquent and could be subject to foreclosure depending on the years of delinquency.

The County offers a variety of ways to pay property taxes, with the most convenient being the 24/7 drive-up drop boxes located in Bend at 1300 NW Wall St. and in Redmond at 411 SW 9th St.  Other ways to pay taxes include online at http://www.deschutes.org/tax, by phone at 866-871-5856, or in person at the County Tax Office located on the second floor of the Deschutes Services Building at 1300 NW Wall St.

For those still planning to mail their payment, the County highly recommends getting the postmark hand stamped in the local post office to show that the payment was mailed on or before May 15, 2024. Otherwise, the postmark will not be applied until it reaches a mail distribution center in Portland. Any postmarks after May 15, 2024, will accrue interest, resulting in an unpaid balance.

If you have any questions or need clarification about your property taxes, please call the County Tax Office at (541) 388-6540.
