
A driver and two passengers were arrested after a high speed vehicle pursuit Saturday night. Around 11:00 p.m., the initial report from Jefferson County was that the white sedan was traveling through Madras at 130 miles an hour in a 25 mile an hour speed zone with no lights on.
Jefferson, Crook County Deputies and Officers with the Prineville Police Department responded to Highway 26 setting up spike strips. Deputies were unsuccessful in spiking the 2018 Chevy Camero, which continued to flee on Highway 26 towards Prineville.
The Camaro was seen traveling at 100 miles an hour towards Prineville from Highway 26. Shortly after the Camaro entered Prineville, the pursuit was terminated for safety reasons. Shortly after the pursuit was terminated, the Camaro was spotted in the area of Northwest Campbell Ranch Road off of Northwest Elliott Lane. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted on the Camaro, finding the Camaro was unoccupied and the occupants had fled on foot.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded with a K9 team to the location. A Crook County Deputy deployed an Unmanned Aircraft System (Drone), to assist with searching for the occupants. All three male occupants were located hiding behind an old wood framed building and were taken into custody. The driver was then transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
Do to an active on-going investigation the suspects names are not being released at this time.
