Bend Endurance Academy Athletes Off To Nationals

Bend Endurance Academy is sending seven athletes to USA Climbing’s Youth National Championships in Chicago. These athletes have been competing in the three disciplines of bouldering, lead/top-rope, and speed climbing over the past 9 months. On their journey to Nationals, the climbers must compete at Local, Regional, and Divisional competitions to move on through to the next round. In order to compete at Nationals in their chosen discipline, climbers must place in the top six in the Division, which is made up of all youth climbers from Oregon and Washington.

The athletes will be competing with hundreds of others from around the United States, coming together to try their best on the hardest climbs possible. You can tune in to the live stream at the USA Climbing Youtube page. Three coaches will accompany the athletes:

Pine Mountain Fire is 85% Contained Monday

The Pine Mountain Fire is 85% contained and remains 2,589 acres in size. Today, firefighters will continue mop-up, back hauling equipment and identifying suppression repair needs. The remaining mop-up is isolated to heat off the control handline

Bend Firefighters responded to a fire to a townhome in Northwest Crossing Sunday. According to a media release: At 7:41 am on Sunday, May 10 2026, a garage fire was reported on NW Crossing Drive in Bend.
