Deschutes County and Deputy Crystal Jansen have agreed to a settlement of her pending federal lawsuit. Jansen claimed she was discriminated against for being a woman and blocked from promotions. Under the terms of the settlement, Deputy Jansen will resign her position with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office in return for payment of $527,000, inclusive of attorney fees. The parties will not be providing any additional comment.
