Deer Ridge Correctional Superintendent Arrested In Bend

The Superintendent of the Deer Ridge Correctional Institution was arrested in Bend early Thursday for driving under the influence and resisting arrest .  According to Bend Police:

August 19, 2021 at 2:05 a.m., a Bend Police officer was on routine patrol around 2:00 am, on the north end of Bend, when the officer conducted a DUII traffic stop on a pickup truck. The driver, Randy Ray Gilbertson, 46, of Payette, Idaho  ran from the officer and then resisted arrest.  He was arrested and taken into custody without further incident.

During the investigation, it was confirmed Gilbertson is the Superintendent of the Deer Ridge Correctional Institution State of Oregon Department of Corrections. He was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on charges of DUII and resisting arrest.
