36 Pit Fire Threatening Estacada Homes

091514.Estacada.FireESTACADA, OR — Crews continue to fight the 36 Pit Fire burning near Estacada.  The fire, which broke out over the weekend, has burned over 2,300 acres, forcing the evacuation of many nearby homes.  Those living in the impacted area say they are hoping for the best.

“That’s really all you can you. You pray to God and hope that we’re all safe. It’s terrible that somebody’s foolishness with a gun, it kind of pisses me off, that someone was out shooting during a Red Flag Warning.”

Roughly 100 firefighters are battling the 36 Pit Fire burning in the Mt. Hood National Forest.
