The Oregon State USBC (OSUSBC) is excited to bring the 2025 OSUSBC Open Championship Tournament to Lava Lanes in Bend beginning Saturday, April 26. Over the course of seven weekends, nearly 1,000 bowlers from across Oregon will compete in one of the state’s largest amateur sporting events—delivering a powerful boost to the Central Oregon economy in the process.

The tournament will run weekends from April 26 through June 15, skipping only the weekend of June 7–8 due to a previously scheduled event at the center. With bowlers traveling in teams of five and most competing in singles, doubles, and team events across two days, local hotels, restaurants, and businesses are expected to see a significant increase in visitors throughout the duration of the tournament.

“When you combine travel, lodging, dining, and local attractions, the OSUSBC Open delivers a meaningful economic impact to every community that hosts it,” said Jim Ferretti, Association Manager of the Oregon State USBC. “We’re thrilled to bring that energy to Bend and to highlight the incredible bowling talent that exists across our state.”
A Big Win for Local Businesses

With most bowlers arriving Friday evenings and staying through Sunday, the influx of weekend visitors translates to thousands of hotel room nights and dining dollars spent locally. Families and friends often accompany bowlers, turning the event into mini-getaways that benefit shops, coffeehouses, breweries, and attractions throughout the region.
The Bend stop not only showcases the sport—it also underscores Bend’s growing reputation as a go-to destination for sports tourism and community-driven events.
Spotlight on the Sport and the Bowlers

The tournament features singles, doubles, and team events, welcoming everyone from long-time competitive bowlers to rising stars from local leagues. Bowlers of all skill levels and backgrounds are encouraged to participate, with multiple divisions ensuring fair and fun competition within each bowler’s ability level.

“Bowling is one of the most inclusive sports out there,” said Ferretti. “Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or a dedicated league bowler, there’s a place for you at this tournament. It’s all about enjoying the game, challenging yourself, and being part of something bigger across the state.”
