Redmond Fire & Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at approximately 10:30am Thursday, March 6th, 2025. As units were responding, a large column of smoke was visible from a distance. The structure fire was located at 4725 NE O’Neil Way.

Upon arrival of the first engine, fire crews were met with a large volume of fire and made an aggressive attack to keep the fire from spreading to nearby vegetation. Due to the area not having fire hydrants, water tenders were used to bring in water to help control and extinguish the fire.

No residents or firefighters were injured during the fire.

While firefighters were able to bring the fire under control, a significant portion of the residence was damaged and is uninhabitable. Firefighters were able to locate and save a number of the residents personal belongings.

Due to the close proximity to O’Neil Hwy the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) provided traffic control until all fire units were able to safely clear the scene.

Fire investigators are examining the fire scene, interviewing witnesses and examining fire pattern to determine the origin and cause of the fire. At this time the fire is currently under investigation.

Redmond Fire & Rescue was assisted by Crooked River Ranch, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and ODOT.

Redmond Fire & Rescue would like to remind residents to always check to make sure your smoke alarms are working properly and that you have and practiced an escape plan.
