As the year comes to a close, Deschutes County is reflecting on 2024 with the release of a “Year in Review” video. The highlight reel offers a glimpse into the notable moments, events and County achievements of 2024.

During 2024, the County:

  • Formed partnerships and made investments to provide more affordable housing in the community
  • Celebrated the opening of a new North County Campus in Redmond, which allows area residents a more convenient way to access county services like immunizations, WIC and Veterans’ Services
  • Began the expansion of the Deschutes County Circuit Courthouse, which will add a new public entrance and two new courtrooms
  • Commemorated the opening a new solid waste facility at the Negus Transfer Station in Redmond
  • Updated the Transportation System Plan (TSP), which serves as a guide for maintaining and improving the county road system 20 years into the future
  •  Adopted the 2040 Comprehensive Plan, a blueprint for the future that help the County face challenges like housing, jobs, wildfire risk and more
  • Created a deflection program to divert low-level drug possession offenders away from detention and toward addiction treatment services
