Roomate Arrested In Bend Homicide

Bend Police have a suspect in custody after investigating a death in southeast Bend. When officers arrived at the residence of 60800 block of Raintree Drive, Matthew Kenneth Hallberg, 57, was deceased in the back yard. A 50-year-old Bend man was contacted at the residence and he was subsequently arrested for the death of Hallberg. The men were roommates and acquaintances.

The Oregon State Crime Lab assisted in the investigation. An autopsy will be performed. The suspect was jailed for Assault 1, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Criminal Homicide.
