Federal resources are responding to help support a new @ODF_COD fire start named the #CatRockFire burning six miles north of Prineville. The fire is estimated at 500 acres. Several aerial resources including air attack, air tankers & a helicopter are supporting engines on the ground.

The Crook County Sheriff informed ODF Saturday night that the area from McKay Creek Road from the intersection with Gerke Road all the way north to the intersection with Cat Rock Road is now in a Level 3 – Go Now evacuation status and will remain so until the Cat Rock Fire is brought under control in that area. Non-emergency vehicles are not allowed on that stretch of road for the safety of the public and of firefighters using the road to access the fire.
