Senator Dick Anderson (R-Lincoln City) and Representative Vikki Breese-Iverson (R-Prineville) released a memo outlining 6 short-term policy recommendations to boost housing production following the Housing Production Advisory Council’s preliminary set of 59 long-term policy recommendations.
“Every member regardless of party understands that Oregon needs more housing of all types, and we need it now. After countless committee discussions and follow-up meetings, Rep. Breese-Iverson and I came up with 6 practicable steps we can take to catalyze home production right away,” said Senator Anderson, Vice-Chair of the Senate Committee on Housing and Development.
“I am hopeful the Governor and our colleagues across the aisle will join us in a true housing renaissance for Oregonians,” said Breese-Iverson, Vice-Chair of the House Committee on Housing and Homelessness. “We must open up land for building, streamline the process, invest in real community assets, and then get the heck out of the way.”
