Fentanyl Seized During Traffic Stop, Two Arrested

fentanyl-3

Over the last couple of months, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team in collaboration with the Redmond Police Department (RPD) conducted a short-term investigation into the possession and distribution of fentanyl involving a 55-year-old Redmond man and a 49-year-old Redmond woman.

On Thursday, December 14, 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m., The two suspects were contacted by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office during a traffic stop in Terrebonne. During the traffic stop, Bend Police Department (BPD) drug detection K9 Bonnie alerted to the odor of illegal substances in the vehicle. Approximately half a pound of Fentanyl, in powder and pill form, was seized. Both suspects were arrested and jailed on drug charges.

CODE and RPD would like to thank the Oregon State Police (OSP), Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), and the Bend Police Department (BPD) for their assistance with this investigation. RPD appreciates our partner agencies assisting us with making Redmond the Safest Community in Oregon by keeping illegal and dangerous drugs, such as fentanyl, out of our community.
