Bend Police arrested a 32-year-old man suspected of stabbing another man during a fight on October 20th. Police determined the suspect was in a motor home parked in the 700 block of NE Second Street. Because of the nature of the crime and the suspect’s criminal history, the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team was activated.
At approximately 1:56 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, Bend Police and CERT deployed two BearCat vehicles to block in the motor home and took the suspect into custody without incident. He was arrested on charges of Assault I, Menacing and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The arrest comes from an incident on October 20th where a 45-year-old Bend man reported to Police that he’d been stabbed. Police found the victim with a laceration to his left side and additional injuries to his face. The victim said the incident took place in the 200 block of NE Franklin Avenue, and that he did not know the person who stabbed him with a four-inch blade.
Officers provided medical aid at the scene and Bend Fire medics transported the victim to St. Charles Bend with non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses and video surveillance indicated there was a fight between the victim and two men before the stabbing.
