Excessive heat is expected in Central Oregon through Thursday, Aug. 17. To prevent serious health effects from extreme heat — stay cool, stay hydrated and stay informed.

If needed, Deschutes County Health Services recommends people access public spaces such as libraries, grocery stores, and indoor shopping areas to stay out of the heat. Click here for a list of local cooling centers.
