Postal Carriers Needed In Bend

For the first time in at least a decade, the Postal Service has immediate openings for direct hires into career carrier positions. As a career employee all available benefits begin on the first day. Postings are open until the positions are filled in Bend and Portland. Visit www.usps.com/careers, click on “Apply Now”. Enter the keywords “city carrier”, select “Oregon” from the location drop-down menu, and click the start button.

These are career positions which offer excellent benefits from day one. And starting pay for career carrier positions begins at $22.18 per hour, paid bi-weekly.

Newly hired employees are covered by the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). Upon hire, employees are eligible to contribute into the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) which is similar to 401(k) plans. Employees also have the option to enroll into the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program as well as the Federal Employees Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), dental, vision, and long-term care insurance programs. Flexible Spending Accounts to cover eligible out-of-pocket health care and dependent care (day care) expenses are also available, in addition to other benefits such as sick leave, annual leave, and holidays.

March Job Fairs

The Postal Service is also holding multiple job fairs in the harder to staff areas of Oregon during the month of March. Anyone in need of a job should stop by one of hosting locations listed below.

While other companies are reducing their workforce, the Postal Service is actively hiring. Our goal is to welcome hundreds of new employees within the next few months across the state. The need is especially urgent for mail carriers, clerks, and mail handlers.

To help reach that goal, we’re hosting job fairs in the communities which have urgent staffing challenges. Anyone who needs a new career path or is looking for a first-time job, please make plans to stop by:
