Oregon State University will host a summit on March 7 about making college more affordable and accessible.

The summit includes a panel discussion with legislative and state higher education leaders addressing college affordability in Oregon that takes place from 9:15 to 10 a.m.

Panelists include Ben Cannon, executive director of the state’s Higher Education Coordinating Commission, and State Representative John Lively, who chairs the House Higher Education Committee. Oregon State Provost and Executive Vice President Ed Feser will host the discussion.

The remainder of the event will feature 10-minute presentations from OSU speakers on affordability resources, initiatives and programs. Topics include an online humanities degree focused on affordability; how corporations can pay for an employee’s education; and how to best support students who are also parents.

The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Horizon Room on the Corvallis campus. It will also be livestreamed on Zoom.
