City Club Hosts ‘Awkward Conversations’

cityclub_new_2016

Join City Club of Central Oregon for a discussion about the humor, awkwardness and anxiety of gathering in person again and how we build resiliency to move forward. The panel will discuss their experiences and openly talk about how people feel awkward in
conversations as we gather in person again. Getting back to “normal” brings about an overwhelming amount of emotions, making small talk is hard. Do people shake hands anymore? Whether at a City Club forum, in the office, or with family and friends over the holidays, being in person can be joyful, but also cause anxiety. We may find ourselves angry at the choices others made over the past two years.

“We know for our in-person November forum that people are ready to connect again, but it can be a struggle to figure out how we do that. And that being together again brings up a lot of emotions,” said Kim Gammond, City Club Executive Director. The pandemic hit some far harder than others. Finding happiness or comfort in gathering again is a challenge. So let’s talk about it!

Panelists:
● Laura Grayson, Embark Coworking Community Manager, Ruffwear
● Judith Sadora, Triune Health and Wellness, Master of Counseling Instructor at OSU Cascades
Moderator:
● Rev. Dr. Steven Koski, Lead Pastor at Bend First Presbyterian

The forum will be held in person at the Riverhouse for a limited number of attendees, get your tickets now! City Club will also continue to live stream their forums for free on City Club’s social media and youtube channel offering everyone in our community access to this conversation.
