New Fire Southeast of Bend

A new wildfire start was reported just after 5 p.m. Sunday southeast of Bend. According to Central Oregon Fire Info, the fire grew rapidly to 50 acres by 8 p.m.

Many resources responded to the fire including two large airtankers, 3 single engine air tankers, hand crews and dozers. The fire is managed by a Type 3 Incident Management Team. Residents and others in the area should avoid interfering with resources responding to the fire and should avoid the area if possible.
