New Fire Southeast of Bend

A new wildfire start was reported just after 5 p.m. Sunday southeast of Bend. According to Central Oregon Fire Info, the fire grew rapidly to 50 acres by 8 p.m.

Many resources responded to the fire including two large airtankers, 3 single engine air tankers, hand crews and dozers. The fire is managed by a Type 3 Incident Management Team. Residents and others in the area should avoid interfering with resources responding to the fire and should avoid the area if possible.

Franklin Avenue Construction Detour Changes

Beginning Monday, Nov. 3, the one-way traffic on Franklin Avenue between Fourth Street and Eighth Street will switch directions (eastbound open, westbound closed) to complete the next phase of construction on the Franklin Avenue Improvements project. The
