Bend Police Catch Runaway Utah Teens

Bend Police caught a teenage couple from Utah after finding a stolen vehicle in a store parking lot Sunday. About 4:40 p.m., a 55-year old man alerted 9-1-1 that he was almost struck by a Red Nissan Rouge that pulled into the Juniper Swim and Fitness parking lot. The man gave officers the Utah license plate which returned to a stolen vehicle out of Salt Lake City. He also provided a description of the couple.

Officers searched the area and located the stolen unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot of Safeway located at 642 NE 3rd. Street in Bend. At 5:47 p.m., a Bend Police Officer located two juveniles near 4th Street and Hawthorne Avenue that matched the description of the suspects and evidence linked them to the stolen vehicle. They were arrested and sent to Deschutes County Juvenile Detention Center. the teen male was charged with Unlawful Use of Motor Vehicle, Runaway-Out of State. The female was charged Runaway-Out of State.
