Bend Fire and Rescue extinguished a slow moving brush fire early Monday evening on the west of the river at the base of Deschutes River Canyon. The fiire was extinguished after deploying a hose line down the canyon. A 50’x50′ area in low brush was involved in what appeared to a a transient camp. Additional crews made access to fire location to assist with mop up. Water and foam was applied and fire line established around burned area. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
