Pump prices continue to climb as demand for gas increases to the highest level since states began issuing stay-at-home orders in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic. For the week, the national average for regular jumps seven cents to $2.05 a gallon. The Oregon average adds six cents to $2.51.
Despite the consistent increases at the pump, prices are still significantly cheaper year-over-year. In fact, during the first week of June the past five years, the average price for gas nationally is $2.81 and in Oregon it’s $3.00 a gallon.
