Crooked River Campsites up for Bid are in Path of Totality

Central Oregon – The Oregon State Parks Foundation will be hosting an online silent auction of 30 Campsites at the Crooked River Campground in the Cove Palisades State Park in Central Oregon.

This location is within the path of Totality for the Eclipse, and slightly south of the expected central line.

Bids will be for 4-night campground spaces from 4pm on Friday, August 18 through 1pm, Tuesday, August 22.

The auction will be held in five sections, with six spots available in each section. Each section will close at a different time.

* The first will close on Monday, May 15 at 8pm PDT

* The second will close on Tuesday, May 16 at 8pm PDT

* The third will close on Thursday, May 18 at 8pm PDT

* The fourth will close on Friday, May 19 at 8pm PDT

* And, finally the fifth will close on Monday, May 22 at 8pm PDT.

Six Campsites will be in each closing section. The winners will be notified each night. If you did not receive a notification that you won, you may want to bid on sites in the next sections.

Vehicles at these campsites are limited to what can fit within the 48′ paved area, and are RV accessible (power & water hook-up available).

Online bidding will begin at 5pm on Friday, May 12th.

In order to bid, you must be a member of the Foundation. You can become a member with a donation of $25 or more.

This is a fund raising event for the Oregon State Parks Foundation, which is the only state-wide nonprofit partner of the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department. Winning bids will be considered donations to the Foundation, which allows the Foundation to work on projects that preserve & protect the parks, and enhance the experience of using the parks.

This includes supporting initiatives such as our Ticket2Ride program which funds travel expenses for K-8 students in Title One schools to go to the Parks, our Bike Pod program, and our Cottonwood Crossing Summer Institute.
