Bend, Ore. – When was the last time you had reindeer for lunch? Chances are, never. But at Bend’s new restaurant, Bangers and Brews, you can get reindeer-and many other exotic meats- wrapped up as a delicious sausage. Pair that with their amazing chimichurri mayo or garlic aioli, some carmalized onions-or any other of their many toppings- a delicious cold beer and you have what is quite possibly the best meal in town. KBNW’s Abby Taylor says it is hands down the most flavorful and interesting meal she has had in a long time!
The owner, Rubens Garcia greets you with a basket of bread and their homemade chimichurri sauce, handmade by his wife, and makes you feel as if you were dinning in his home, not his restaurant. Head chef and son Marcelo is the brains behind the unique menu, and while cook Armando Sarinana made me their very popular wild boar sausage, he took some time out of his hectic schedule to talk to me about how he came up with such a cool idea for his family’s restaurant!
