(PITTSBURGH) — Atlanta Braves infielder Erick Aybar was pulled from Thursday’s lineup due an unusual injury. He had a chicken bone stuck in his throat.
Aybar was sent to the hospital to be sedated and have the bone removed.

Braves’ interim manager Brian Snitker said the shortstop looked okay when he departed from the hospital.
Snitker on Aybar: “He looked okay when he left, but he wasn’t speaking real well. Let’s just hope everything works out alright.”

But according to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman, the bone had already been moved.
Aybar has returned to the stadium. The chicken bone had already been dislodged when doctors attempted to remove it from his throat.
