Deschutes County 911 Service District Measure Passes With Flying Colors

Deschutes County, Ore. – Deschutes County first responders were overwhelmed by the support they received from measure 9-107, which passed by a landslide in yesterday’s election.

The new 911 district will provide the dispatch center and communications system with funding from a permanent tax.

In December, commissioners approved putting the measure on the ballot, and public hearings were held in January and February to discuss it.

Both incumbent Sherriff Shane Nelson and his opponent, Sherriff’s Deputy Eric Kozowski, publicly supported the measure.
