(WASHINGTON) — A grand jury has handed down a 20-count indictment against the man accused of killing three members of a prominent family and their housekeeper in their Washington mansion last year.
An indictment was returned Wednesday charging Darron Wint, also known as Daron, with a total of 20 felony charges, including first-degree murder while armed, burglary, kidnapping, extortion, arson and theft, according to prosecutors.
Savvas Savopoulos, his wife Amy, son Philip and housekeeper, Veralicia Figueroa, were killed in May 2015.
A former lawyer for Wint said his client “never intended or wanted anybody … to be harmed.”
