Bend, Ore. – A Bend man who threatened to kill two women at a local motel in August and violated a no contact order was captured in Southeast Bend Tuesday.
Police recognized Nathan Wade Pogue, 24, walking along Reed Market Road near SE 5th Street, but he fled on foot and trespassed into several yards while crossing over fences in an attempt to get away. Police set up a perimeter and deployed Canine Haras to track Pogue, where they found him in a doghouse in the backyard of 621 Glencoe Place.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
Pogue was arrested for pointing a handgun at two Bend women on August 27th at the Dunes Motel on Northeast Third Street in Bend.
On January 2nd, 2016, one of the victims reported Pogue had violated his “No Contact Order” relating to the previous arrest. Police say Pogue’s contact involved threats and bribery offers in an attempt to get Johnson to give a false statement regarding the earlier case still pending trial.
Investigators also learned Pogue had a valid warrant for his arrest for Violation of Parole out of Washington County. The warrant was unrelated to the crimes being investigated in Bend.
