(LOS ANGELES) — Courteney Cox and her fiance, Johnny McDaid of the band Snow Patrol, are calling it quits.
People magazine reports that the couple, who got engaged in June of 2014, have ended things, with a source telling the magazine, “”They’ve been having problems for a long time.” The split was first reported by TMZ.
The couple were introduced by a mutual pal, singer Ed Sheeran. McDaid popped the question six months later, and both tweeted the same selfie, with Cox writing, “I’m engaged to him!” and McDaid stating, “I’m engaged to her!”
Cox told People magazine earlier this year, “When I knew that this was just who he is, that he was just a beautiful, sensitive, loving person with a wonderful family, with a beautiful set of friends…then I was like, ‘This is for real.'”
Cox was previously married to David Arquette; they have an 11-year-old daughter named Coco. McDaid’s band Snow Patrol is best known for their hit “Chasing Cars.”
